Camera (Transform WASD)

Author: unc
Date: 17 Sep, 2011
Category: module

Updated to include DX11 in the help patch. Added some yaw to the movement, as well as damper. Altered patch to more closely match the current softimage reset, and keyboard and mouse. It's a bit more like a FPS shooter, meets flight sim now.

Description

It copies camera/view behavior from this tool: http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=12511 I got really used to it, and finally made this module to fly around 3d Kinda works like no-clip mode in FPS games

dunno, maybe somebody will find it handy too

just hold LMB, fly with WASD, move mouse to look/turn around

CONTROLS: (Updated 8/11/2015 SuperflysiNZ) fly - WASD look - LMB+MOUSEMOVE pan - MMB+MOUSEMOVE fov - z+RMB+MOUSEMOVE strafe - RMB+MOUSEMOVE fast = SHIFT+WASD r(hold) = reset view

a speed parameter would be nice

Perfect! I had just started patching something similar but now I don't have to finish that.

I added speed up/down with PageUp and PageDown controlling a counter (0.25 to 10 with 0.25 increment) and then squaring the output of that.

Might add far clip up/down keys to.

The old standard camera controls sure was cumbersome.

(The inverse rotation isn't correct :/)

Update: I suppose it's fine just me being tired checking with a box instead of a flat surface and thinking it looks wonky
